St. Veronica Giuliani (1660 - 1727) is the only saint who received the stigmata and retained the wounds while her body is also incorrupt. A favorite patron of St. Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio), she remained largely unknown and, sadly, not venerated even in Italy, until recently. Her life as both a mystic and as a stalwart for chastity and purity, as well as for orthodoxy, in her own age of casualness, at the beginning of the age of secularism in the "Enlightenment" makes her so important for us who live in the height of secularism's triumph of the world in these Postmodern days.

Marionite Catholics from Lebanon have taken up her promotion in these dark days and are touring her relics around the world. St. Veronica is currently touring the east coast of the United States and will be going to mid-America next. She's coming to California toward the end of October and will be at Holy Martyrs on Saturday, October 26.

Her recent story, which is quite miraculous, is worth watching:

Br. Emmanuel (also a Deacon), featured in the above video, will be preaching at the Mass and blessing the faithful with her relics.

St. Veronica's feast day is July 9, also the feast of Our Lady of the Atonement (important title of Mary for Ordinariate Catholics).

As St. Veronica is a church builder, we will be praying a Novena to her from Oct. 18 to Oct. 26, as a parish, with three intentions: 1) to identify land for Holy Martyrs; 2) to identify the money and resources to build our church on that land; 3) to protect us from evil so we can be a light in these dark days.

Upon answer to our petitions, we will erect a side chapel with 24hr Adoration, to St. Veronica Giuliani in our permanent church to continue to promote her veneration.
