We are always looking for new choir members! The music at Holy Martyrs consists of chant, in both English and Latin, as well as traditional English hymnody. Whether you're an expert or just beginning, our choir director will be grateful for your help and happy to work with you regardless of experience.
Our God is welcoming and hospitable (Leviticus 19:33-34), and we are likewise called to be hospitable (Romans 12:13). The Hospitality Team exists to extend God's gracious hospitality to the church family and our neighbors. Through simple smiles, conversations, and coffee, our goal is to communicate the welcome of God. The Hospitality Team is comprised of four teams: Coffee/Meals, Connections (plugging in new people), Greeters, and Ushers.
Altar servers are always needed at Holy Martyrs. Like all Catholic parishes in American, we follow the USCCB guidelines and in the Ordinariate we follow the historic practice of all-male altar servers. Male servant-leadership at the altar embodies and promotes masculine spiritual leadership in the family as well as in the Church, often resulting in greater clarity of discernment to a vocation either as a husband, a priest, or deacon, as well as in career. If any man (or your son) would like to serve at the altar, please sign up:
The altar guild at Holy Martyrs is a great way for women to help the parish and be involved! Women are the backbone of any family, and bring their feminine leadership to the parish and natural beauty to the worship of God. The altar guild is an important expression, and is open to women and girls of all ages. It serves as a great mentoring network, often resulting in greater clarity of discernment to a vocation either as a wife and mother, in a career, or within the Church.
